On October 26, 2019, the signing and unveiling ceremony of the Beihang-Bozhon Instrument Optoelectronics Joint Innovation Research Institute and Academician Yao Junen's Studio was grandly held in Wujiang District, marking the beginning of comprehensive and in-depth cooperation between Beihang University, Bozhon, and Wujiang District.

"Thank you to Bozhon for joining the development endeavor of electron microscopes, and thanks to the Wujiang District Government and the administrative bodies of Beihang University for their support towards the development of electron microscopes in China." Academician Yao Junen expressed his sincere gratitude at the conference. He shared with the attendees the development history of electron microscopes in China, highlighting the significant role these instruments play in national development. He hoped that all project members would start with the quality of a single screw, step by step, earnestly carry out their work, continuously improve in production, and make substantive progress; by leveraging their respective strengths and collaborating closely, they could propel the development of China's electron microscopes to new heights.

After visiting Bozhon, Academician Pan Junhua was deeply moved. He said that it was not easy for Bozhon to develop from a single machine tool to its current scale in just over a decade. This shows that the entrepreneurial spirit of Bozhon's founder is very strong and steadfast. He believes that two things were done correctly: one is the correct choice of goals, and the other is the correct guiding ideology. He used an example to illustrate the profound truth that without core technology, one will fall behind and be beaten, emphasizing that both product and equipment development require choosing the right direction and continuing to focus and work hard; and the correct guiding ideology is to put the cause first, not to prioritize making money. Only with this mindset can a successful enterprise be built. This collaboration shows that Bozhon is a very visionary company, and he hopes that the innovation research institute and studio will achieve excellent accomplishments in the future.

Beihang is a leading aerospace institution of higher learning, and both Academician Yao and Academician Pan are scientists dedicated to the research of electron microscopes, making many contributions and achievements in this field." Electron microscopes, which use electron beams as the light source and electromagnetic fields as lenses, are cutting-edge instruments with high magnification and ultra-high resolution (sub-angstrom level). However, they are also instruments for which China is 'choked' by foreign control, with the Chinese market completely dominated by foreign manufacturers. The technical innovation research and product development of electron microscopes undertaken in this cooperation have significant strategic and market importance for both the enterprise and the nation. Electron microscopes are widely used in modern scientific fields such as biology, medicine, physics, chemistry, metallurgy, as well as in industry and agriculture, and have become an indispensable powerful tool and support in modern science and technology. Conducting technological innovation research and product development of electron microscopes has significant strategic and market importance for both enterprises and the nation.
Academician Yao Junen was a student of Mr. Wang Daheng, a pioneer of China's "Two Bombs, One Satellite" project and an academician of both the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He has served as the deputy director and researcher of the Beijing Electron Microscope Laboratory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and as the chief scientist of the Space Detection Science and Technology Department of the National Laboratory for Aeronautics and Astronautics Science and Technology.
In the future, with Academician Yao Junen as the technical leader, Bozhon will closely cooperate with Professor Zhang Chunxi and his team from the School of Instrument Science and Opto-electronics Engineering at Beihang University. Relying on the Key Laboratory of Micro-Nano Measurement-Manipulation and Physics of the Ministry of Education and building on the research achievements in ultra-microscopy technology at Beihang University, and fully utilizing Beihang's technology and talent reserves, Bozhon will adopt the "introduce, digest, absorb, and re-innovate" model. With strong government support, it will attract domestic and international leading units and interdisciplinary top talents, using a comprehensive tracking and localized innovation approach to achieve independent research and development of mid-to-high-end electron microscopes and their products. This effort aims to better ground and transform high-tech achievements, contributing to the innovative development of the optoelectronic instrument field!
